The Ministry of Health announced a reduction in the cost of treatment of cancer patients in day hospitals


Some drugs for chemotherapy are purchased by medical institutions at a cost below the maximum registered prices. This made it possible to reduce the cost of treating cancer patients in day hospitals.

The Ministry of Health plans to increase the average standard for the volume of medical care in the Oncology profile in day hospitals, follows from the draft Program of State Guarantees for the provision of free medical care to citizens for 2024 and for the planning period of 2025 and 2026. Compared to 2023, the figure will increase by 7.7%, from 0.01089 cases of treatment in 2023 to 0.011726 cases. The standard for federal centers is set at 0.000762 cases, for other medical organizations – 0.0109640 cases.

The analysis showed that some drugs for chemotherapy were purchased by medical institutions at a cost below the maximum registered prices. As a result, the excess of tariffs over actual costs amounted to RUB 868.4 million in 2023. within the framework of the basic compulsory medical insurance program and 34 billion rubles. – within the framework of territorial programs. Thus, the cost of a case of treatment in the Oncology profile in day hospitals (with the exception of federal medical centers), based on the purchase prices of chemotherapy drugs, turned out to be equal to 78,722.50 rubles, as noted in the explanatory note to the draft Program.

The standards for the volume of medical care in the Oncology profile in a 24-hour hospital are planned to increase in 2024 by 8.7% compared to the current year, from 0.009700 hospitalization cases to 0.011247 cases. The tariff will be 97,722.92 rubles.
