In Udmurtia, they are considering the issue of transferring an oncology clinic to concession

Head of the Udmurt Republic Alexander Brechalov instructed to develop a “road map” for the transfer of the oncology clinic to concession. The decision caused heated discussion and concern among local social activists. According to activists of the Izhevsk team Alexei Navalnythis is “a win-win scheme when the patient is willing to pay any money in the fight for life.”

However, most experts refrain from commenting, because the parameters of the concession agreement are still unknown. And the very fact that such a possibility has been developed does not mean the transfer of all medical care in the “oncology” profile to private hands in the region.

At the same time, PPPs in the field of cancer care are not so uncommon recently. Typically, private capital is attracted to launch high-tech projects that are difficult for the budget to handle on its own. Thus, during the construction of a PET center and a cyclotron-radiochemical complex on the basis of the Republican Oncology Dispensary in Chechnya, Pharmstandard acted as an investor.

In the Ulyanovsk region, a concession agreement for a number of units of the radiological department of the regional oncology clinic was concluded between ErSpey LLC and the Ministry of Health of the subject. The result of its implementation should be the opening of the Tomotherapy Center.
