President of Russia Vladimir Putin called the development of medicine one of the state priorities and pointed out the importance of improving the level and quality of medical education. In a video message to the participants of the II Congress “National Health Care”, the head of state called for special attention to solving personnel problems.
The state puts the tasks of developing medicine as a priority, the president emphasized. According to him, today medicine is faced with new tasks and plans, working conditions are changing, requiring an increasing concentration of forces, experience, knowledge, and prompt adoption of complex management decisions. But one thing remains unchanged – the great mission of the doctor.
Putin thanked all medical workers for their dedicated work and loyalty to their calling.
The President noted that there are enough unresolved issues in the industry, but the work being carried out within the framework of the national project “Healthcare” has already begun to bring results. He called the most important of them “a record life expectancy for Russia”: by the end of 2023 it will be about 74 years.
