Moscow authorities announced the completion of the modernization of the infectious disease service

The country’s largest Moscow Infectious Clinical Hospital No. 1 admitted its first patients. The capacity of the hospital has increased almost 1.5 times.

With the opening of the new complex of Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital (ICH) No. 1, the modernization of Moscow’s infectious disease service is completed, the city mayor said Sergei Sobyanin. He called this event the most important stage in the formation of a new medical framework for the capital, the portal reports.

The new IKB No. 1 complex was built on the site of old buildings over several years and equipped with modern equipment. The capacity of the hospital has increased almost 1.5 times – now about 1 thousand patients can be treated here at the same time.

IKB No. 1 now has separate units for providing medical care to adults and children, a department for patients with especially dangerous infections, a clinical laboratory where they can conduct up to 15 thousand studies per day, as well as a hepatology center with a day hospital. There are plans to launch four modern operating rooms, as well as an infectious diseases obstetrics and gynecology service.
