More than 57 million rubles. provided in the draft budget for 2020 for the creation of a Federal Register of Bone Marrow Donors. This is stated in the materials of the Council under the Government of Russia on issues of trusteeship in the social sphere.

“The draft federal budget for the coming three-year period provides for more than 57 million rubles for the creation of the federal register for 2020 and almost 25 million rubles for the next two years for its maintenance. The Ministry of Finance has approved these funds,” reports Rossiya Segodnya MIA, citing materials for the council meeting.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova reported at the meeting that the volume of medical care provided by bone marrow transplantation methods in Russia is increasing every year. In 2016, 1,402 transplantations were carried out as part of high-tech medical care, in 2018 – 1,696, in 2019 their number should reach 1,796.

Vasya Perevoshchikova Anna Andryushkina reported that due to a shortage of donors, it is not possible to find compatible options for many patients either in Russia or abroad. Therefore, only 1.5 thousand bone marrow transplants are performed annually in the country, and, according to the Ministry of Health, more than 5 thousand people need them. Over the past year, 13,685 donors joined the NRDCM, and each volunteer may be the only chance to save seriously ill people.
