The head of the contract service of Smolensk Medical University and her husband were found guilty of accepting bribes in the amount of 10-15% of the cost of government contracts. They were sentenced to six and five years in prison, respectively.

His wife, Ekaterina Selchenkova, was previously found guilty of corruption and sentenced to six years in a general regime colony and a fine of 3 million rubles, the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee reported.
From April 2019 to June 2022, Mashurov received from Selchenkova information about the availability of applications for the supply of goods and services at SmolSMU, transferred them to entrepreneurs, with whom contracts were subsequently concluded on the terms of the transfer of a bribe in a pre-agreed amount in the amount of 26,900 to 1,443,000 rubles, which excluded the choice of another supplier with possible more favorable conditions for the educational institution. The amount of illegal remuneration as a result was 10% of the contract amount.
At the preliminary investigation stage, Mashurov fully admitted his guilt and repented of his deeds. He also took part in the detection and investigation of other crimes, giving incriminating testimony.
