The government has approved the procedure for financing the basic compulsory medical insurance program for residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Almost 39 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes in 2024. follows from the resolution. The funds will come in the form of interbudgetary transfers directly from the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (MHIF).

Medical assistance under the compulsory medical insurance program will be received by citizens of Russia, foreign citizens and stateless persons living in the territory of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions and insured in the compulsory medical insurance system. In total, more than 38.7 billion rubles will be allocated for these purposes in 2024, of which the DPR will receive 18.8 billion, the LPR – 12.7 billion, the Zaporozhye region – 4.5 billion, the Kherson region – 2.7 billion rubles.

By January 1, 2024, the population with Russian citizenship in the territories of the new regions of the Russian Federation was estimated at 3,227,429 people. The MHIF budget for the current year provides for the receipt of insurance premiums in the amount of 24 billion rubles. on compulsory medical insurance for the non-working population in these regions.
