Health Minister Mikhail Murashko reported to the president on the implementation of instructions to increase the availability of obstetric facilities in Chukotka. They are assigned curators from the relevant federal center.
The Russian Ministry of Health has assigned personal curators to maternity care institutions in Chukotka, the head of the department announced on January 17 Mikhail Murashko at the president’s meeting Vladimir Putin with members of the government, TASS reports. In addition, a system of telemedicine visits for high-risk patients has been introduced.
According to Murashko, curators from the National Medical Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology named after. acad. IN AND. Kulakov are already working in medical institutions in Chukotka. The routing of patients within the region and to third-level institutions has also been developed.
At the beginning of January, Putin promised to help Chukotka increase the availability of maternity care facilities, in particular, to further equip the region’s obstetric care facilities and to organize the routing of patients of this profile to large perinatal centers in the Far Eastern Federal District, MV reported. As Murashko said, about 500 births are registered in Chukotka, all of them take place in institutions of the first and second levels, and the third level (perinatal centers) is also involved. Over the past three years, six women have been sent to perinatal centers in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok and Moscow. There is also an air ambulance service in the territory, and doctors have not allowed a single case of maternal mortality in recent years.
The minister added that the issue of strengthening the material and technical base of obstetric institutions in the region is already being resolved – the allocation of additional funding has been agreed upon.
