In the Rostov region, the FSB opened 37 criminal cases against psychiatrists for false certificates

The FSB in the Rostov region opened 37 criminal cases against psychiatrists. According to investigators, doctors issued certificates of examination to citizens for two years without any examinations.

38 criminal cases have been filed against doctors at the Rostov Psychiatric Hospital. For more than two years, they illegally issued certificates, the FSB department reported. 37 criminal cases have been opened against psychiatrists; another suspect is a narcologist from the regional Narcological Dispensary.

The FSB found out that psychiatrists and a narcologist created a criminal scheme that allowed citizens to illegally obtain medical certificates without actually undergoing medical examinations. For almost two years, from January 2020 to November 2022, doctors illegally helped obtain licenses to drive a car and use weapons, as well as documents necessary to work at nuclear energy facilities (the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant is located in Volgodonsk). There were more than fifty such employees, all of them had contraindications for working at nuclear power plant facilities or health conditions.

Criminal cases against doctors have so far been initiated under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (forgery of documents), under which they face up to two years in prison.
